A National Diver is a diver who has through nationally conducted examinations proved to have gained a higher than average level of knowledge and ability. Proven ability to organise divers to achieve major tasks and projects underwater
Requirements
To qualify as a National Diver the candidate must satisfy the following conditions:
- Current SAA membership
- Hold a Dive Supervisor certificate
- Hold a Diver Rescue certificate
- Qualified Boat Handler with VHF Marine Radio
- Hold a current U.K. Sports Divers Medical Certificate
- Minimum of 5 Years diving experience
- Logged at least 100 dives in varying conditions and locations (in addition to those required for open water, Club, Diver Leader and Dive Supervisor qualifications.) A proportion of the dives should show experience of depths greated than 30 metres
- Pass a written examination and practical diving test set nationally
